While we still need to adhere to social distancing and avoid large gatherings, the Suffolk Regional Office will be hosting virtual meetings and workshops over the summer. Below are links for two certification workshops which will be held on August 6th and 13th from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Please share these with your members. These are two offerings of the same workshop, so a member need only register for one of the workshops. Each session will be capped at 75 participants, and afterwards members will be able to sign up for an individualized counseling session. There are no costs associated with this workshop.
NYSUT Certification Guidance Webinars
Certification for teachers and TAs in New York can be confusing and intimidating. With complications from COVID-19, it certainly hasn't gotten easier.
That's why our union is hosting a series of webinars to help address your certification questions. Webinars focus on common issues educators face when trying to achieve and maintain certification in New York State:
* Initial-to-professional certification requirements
* How to manage issues with SED
* Effects of a change in employment status
* Changes to the certification process in light of COVID-19
Webinar attendees will also be offered the opportunity to sign up for a personal consultation session with one of our certification experts immediately following each session.
Webinars are available to NYSUT members only.
Space is limited, so please only sign up if you are certain you can attend.
