In just two weeks, voters will be heading to the polls to decide whether or not New York should hold a Constitutional Convention. As many of you already know , this convention could be extremely dangerous for teachers. Not only are our pensions at stake, but so are many constitutional guarantees, such as the right to a public education. I know that most of you will be voting NO based on the car magnets and signs that I see in the neighborhood and school parking lots, but there are not enough teachers in the state to defeat this. Below, I have provided a short video that explains why the Constitutional Convention is bad. Please watch this video and share it with your friends and family to let them know about the importance of voting Lastly, when you go and vote on November 7th, you must flip your ballot over to get to the Constitutional Convention question. Below, I have provided a picture of the sample ballot. The Constitutional Convention question is Proposition 1. All you need to do is fill in the "No" circle.
